I Don’t Wanna Grow Up, I’m a Toys ‘R’ Us Kid! Birthday Feasting

Hello fellow travelers! Sorry I went AWOL– I didn’t intend on taking last week off, but making a last push with summer activities left me with little time to craft fun and tasty meals, so I settled for my pre-blog boringness of a lot of eggs and cereal.

To be honest, the cereal was tasty. Remember that granola I made back in The Marshall Islands? I make a batch every two weeks. OBSESSED.

In other news…my birthday is this week! I’ll be 32, and since last week two people asked me if I was still an undergrad, I’m feeling pretty good about it.  Thanks for the genes, Mom and Dad.

While the last few weeks of the Pacific Islands have been admittedly more exciting than the first few, I’m taking the next two weeks to share my favorite foods of all time. Well, some of them. I’m taking two rather than just one because 1) why only celebrate for one week? and 2) I honestly had a hard time narrowing this list down to 8 items, so 4 would be not have been possible.  I just like food way. Too. Much.

You’ll probably look at this list and be like “those are your favorites?” They aren’t admittedly very exciting, or even all that worldly, but that’s just the way it is.  In reality, as much as I love Indian, Greek and Moroccan food, peanut butter, french fries and chocolate are my favorite foods like, EVER (inside joke between me, Lettuce and Tomato. I really don’t talk like a 15 year old).

So, next up:

Peach Upside Down Cake

Smoked Salmon Scramble

BBQ with cheesy grits

Tacos, Salsa and Guacamole

My favorite turkey sandwich with oven fries

Chocolate Bread Pudding

Vanilla Cake with Lemon Curd filling and Simple Buttercream frosting
