Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

How was everyone’s weekend? Mine has been good, full of enough to do, but not too much that I felt like a headless chicken. Lots of catching up with old friends and new, and a farewell brunch to wish Fava well on her new adventures as she moves to Denver.

It was pretty hot out, and while so many relish this kind of weather after months of unrelenting cold, I’ve been more than happy to stay inside for most of it.  Judge me if you will, but the worst…WORST…feeling, is having sweat dripping…anywhere. GROSS.  I took the opportunity to start planning some Iceland fun.  Lettuce and I leave in a little more than a month, and I’m getting pretty pumped about it.

Until then, back to speaking of gross, I found  lot of funny/interesting/gross things for you this week, so let’s get to it.

Science, ya’ll. This looks like something to come out of Dr. Frankenstein’s lab.

Perspective. Rich vs. Poor.

We here in the U.S. have so much to learn about how life should be lived.

I don’t want your charity, thanks.

Serial killers in real life. This stuff fascinates me on so many levels. I love crime shows, and crime novels. Speaking of, check Speaking in Bones, out this week!

Related: The genetics of a psychopath. And, a little bit of irony.

Saved by a hug! Hugs save us all.

Don’t mess with squirrels. Especially drunk, British ones.  Or the ones at Notre Dame. Those things are as big as cats.

Is using the term “ethnic” to describe food offensive? Something to think about.

Jake Gyllenhaal was almost a Mighty Duck!  I’m sad for my 11 year old self for not being able to ever see that.

Finally, I want to go to all of these places. True Colors.

Have a good week!

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday. I’m happy to report that the week of sloth and of me was a huge success. I sat around, watched TV, and sat around some more. I also played a random game of beer pong (with water) because the 21 year old is alive […]

  • Thanks for including my post! I’m glad you liked it. I have got to make it to all those places too. And by the way, I’m all about staying inside during this crazy hot weather too.

    • You’ve just added to an already impossible list. Thanks for letting us all know about them!

  • Saved by a hug – cutest thing I’ve seen today. So happy for those two.

It was 35* all weekend (and already over 30 when I woke up this morning, puke), so you KNOW I stayed in as much as possible. We didn’t go to Equestrian b/c grandma wasn’t up for multiple hours in the blazing sun. I don’t blame her.

  • Oh my goodness! I wish I wouldn’t have read about Switzerland.

    Just kidding.

This is what I am trying to personally achieve here in America. A job that means I can have a work/life balance and make a good living. I know it’s out there.

Also, I loved that part time jobs were seen as being important too!

Have fun on your trip, cannot wait to read all about it.

    • It makes me angry because every other comparable country in the world recognizes the value of work-life balance and we can’t get on board and are all the poorer for it! Sorry- I could rant about this for days. Good look in finding a job where you can live the dream!
