Sunday Somethings

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

God, the news just makes me sad. Doesn’t it make you sad? We, the US, are so much better than this.  I wish we would just act like it.

This is not a space to talk about sad things. The world has enough of those, no doubt you read enough of it, so let’s talk about some things that will maybe make us all feel a little better.  It was really hard to find said feel-better things, despite some consultation with my Brain Trust.  Still, a few things popped up, hopefully some will make you smile.

Everyone, whatever your status, should have freedom to learn.  So proud of my new employer.  Go Blue (but still, Go Irish)!

In light of the women’s march, I loved this read.  It’s so easy to forget all the things that, not only women, but so much of mankind in one way or another had to fight for, just ten or twenty years ago!  I think of how my mom grew up in a time where only 9 women- NINE- were admitted to vet school per year. I can’t even fathom that, only one generation ago, since most of my friends and I were science majors, bound to one professional school or another.  Anyway, we are not equal.

Related: RIP MTM.  We’re gonna make it after all.

See above picture.  I made an iteration of this and it was fantastic.  My recipe is forthcoming. It was so good, so of course I ate too much in the course of taking the pictures and thus feel sick. Still, happy smells in my kitchen this morning.

Starbucks is upping the ante for employee benefits. Who’s next?

Look on the bright side with these amazing pictures.  I especially love the dog-cat snuggles, which happens at my house back home.

And finally, the #CuteAnimalTweetOff.  Thank you, internet.

That’s all I’ve got. Let’s hope next week brings a few more smiles.
