Sunday Somethings

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

This week finally had a sustained feeling of fall, and I’ve very much enjoyed the brisk walk to work or around campus each day. Let’s hope it lasts, sans rain!

This upcoming weeks is looking to be busier, both in and out of work, than it has been in a while, so I’m mentally preparing for it. Remember when I was out and about every night?  That Chicago life.

I hope you enjoyed your extra hour of sleep this morning!  Good news? Crawley doesn’t the concept of time change.

On that note, I’ve joined the crazy cat lady brigade and created an Instagram account for him, in case you want to follow his adventures and deep thoughts and he goes about life.

Anyway, just a few goodies to share this week.

Fun fact: Did you know that New Zealand has no native predatory animals? It’s the reason that their birds can’t fly- they never had to! Thanks to visitors, it’s acquired some, and the country has a goal to get rid of them all.

I am so into theme costumes and couple costumes and family costumes. If I have the occasion, I will totally do it. NPH, you inspire me.

In my new office I don’t notice any smokers popping out for a break, but it was very evident in my last one. An extra week’s vacation for non-smokers?  Yes, please!

Science and history and the Great Pyramid. I’d just love to go to there.

Climate change is really real? Duh.

The addiction to Target is real. I don’t allow myself to go more than once every few months and then I only STICK TO THE LIST.

Punctuation matters. But apparently, in Louisiana, common sense does not.

College without lectures.  I wouldn’t trade my overall college experience for anything, but I realize for everyone, that’s not an option. Here’s a seemingly awesome alternative.

The city that believed in desegregation, and made it stick.  An interesting read and something to think about.  Living in Miami, I grew up in a very diverse environment, and that included school, and it has shaped my whole perspective on, well, everything.

I read this book in 2 days, which included going to work. Magic. Romance. A big twist.  Read it.

These pets have been sorted into Hogwarts houses, and it’s actually affecting their adoption rate.

That’s all I’ve got. Now, football.
