Sunday Somethings

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

Gosh, I wish I was still at Disney. I say that every time I come back, but who wouldn’t want to just live in Neverland? But, duty calls and I did miss my Crawley, so we’re back at it.

Also, it snowed yesterday!

Also, I’m back in the kitchen! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve had the occasion to cook something proper, and you’ve likely noted.  I almost thought that I forgot how to cook, but my labors from this weekend prove otherwise.  So, oldies and newbie goodies to come.

I’m finally living the Christmas spirit, despite the world’s terrible things. I hope that you are finding some light in your life, too!

Now, onward. The internet says:

Because the other side of my life is solely a slave to Instagram, here are some tips from Cosmo (yes, Cosmo) on how to maximize those Christmas Insta photos.

Man pulls over to save wild rabbit from California fires.  Warm feelings here.

But we can’t save all the animals. This video is truly, truly heartbreaking, but it really hits home about the realities of climate change for the entire ecosystem.

This is an old post, but still funny. I was a dedicated 5:45a spinner for almost 7 years straight and even though my friend taught the class, I still hated her sometimes. But then she’d play some Britney and I’d remember that we were friends.

An unlikely friendship.  This 22-Year Old Rapper meets 81-year old Words with Friends opponent. I love everything about this!

Why canceling plans is like heroin.  While it was more of a reality in my past Chicago life, and less now, I still say: Yes, yes it is. You now it is!

In a 2014 study at the University of Virginia, researchers put college students in a room for 15 minutes and asked them to occupy themselves with their own thoughts. 67% of the men and 25% of the women were so miserable that they elected to give themselves painful electric shocks rather than just sitting inside their own heads. Oh dear, that’s terrible! Learning How to be Alone.

LBGT and Black Reports left off Christmas invite list.  So, we’re doing good here, obviously. Geez Louise.

My Life is Mine. Yup, and I’m killing it.  Tracee Ellis Ross tells it like it is, and we all need this sort of life advice.

The benefits of reading: A shortened jail sentence?  Actually, yes!

The Silence Breakers. If you haven’t yet read this article, I highly recommend.

Deep Thoughts: Has anyone started The Crown yet? GAH. Can’t wait to have some binge time.

Have a good week!
