Hello, Sunday.
The first of three holiday weekends in 2015 has come to a close, and I hope yours was full of all happiness despite all the horrible things we see/hear/read in the news that bring us down. I beat some of the traffic and got home last night, arms full of all the delicious leftovers that will keep me from cooking the rest of the week. #Score.
Which means that it’s all dessert, all week here on The HB. I know you’re not mad about it.
I love that the city has already gotten into the spirit. On my walk today I noticed wreathes, garland and all the pretty things adorning houses and store windows. I’m slowly getting my decorations up, and even drank egg nog in my coffee this morning. Christmas, it’s so on.
It was a short week on the computer, but I still managed to find some bits:
Capturing the Kodak moment. Comic brilliance!
Related: Iconic figures snapped in ordinary moments.
“Possible Titles for My Memoir About Being a Hapless TwentySomething;” Hilarious. And mine would probably have been something along the lines of: Single Girl-itis” [Note: This one would feature a photo of me on the cover wearing only a paper hospital gown that shows off my legs.] or perhaps, alternatively, maybe just The Wander Years.
Home of the brave? One marine’s thought-provoking view.
When our differences disappear (with the help of cookies).
Related: The kindness of strangers in this troubling time of such hate gives me faith that not all hope is lost.
The reality of being a woman. #Truth.
What’s in a name? Should college landmarks be renamed to erase past racism? An interesting read.
Royal cuteness in the form of Princess Charlotte. Adorable!
And finally, the Holderness family strikes again. Love ’em or hate ’em, creative they are.
Written mostly during that crazy ND-Stanford game. What the crap happened?
