Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday. Waking up to a flurry of snow was not an ideal way to start things out today, April 10th. APRIL. Nevertheless, the disappointment is tempered by the fact that I made quick trip home to the mitten this weekend, and waking up to…

Hello, Sunday.

Spring!  The tulips are ready!

You may have noticed that it’s been a bit quiet on my midwestern front the past week and that’s because, to be honest, I needed a break. A food break. Ever since coming back from vacation a month ago, it’s been a nonstop flurry of eating out and overindulging. All in good times, but enough was enough and my body was rebelling.  Food overload. I needed a week of salads and smoothies and boring things, none of which you wanted to hear about I’m sure, and certainly nothing I wanted to write about.  In any case I’m back to my everything in moderation ways, in the kitchen saddle and plowing onward with delicious things.

The week has been not exciting, my social life as boring as my plate. Good thing that internets kept me entertained with things not about this godforsaken bloody election, and now they can do so for you.

Sprechen Sie Deutsch?  No from me, but it’d be fun if I did.  German words we all should start using immediately.

Science, ya’ll.  Agar art!  I’d choose to stare at this stuff over Picassos any day.

Turn the Radiooooo up. A new way to listen to music, and it sounds pretty good to me.

Chopped. The poor squirrel!

It’s no secret that I love to dance, and this just makes me want to go all night.  Major bonus points for any man that can swing me around a ballroom.

Do you hold grudges? I don’t really, but it’s good advice to all of us not to piss off these birds.

Long live the Queen. Err, the other one.

Harry Potter, girl power.

Let’s eat our way into spring.

Why are prom-posals a thing?  Why?? The world is getting to be too much.

My lemonade stand wasn’t this successful, but check out what this amazing 11 year old is doing.

And finally, what would you do with a time machine?  This is fun.

Book of the past week:  Single in the City.  Good enough to make me want to read the next two in the series. Reminiscent of the Shopaholic.

Have a good week!

Written whilst chatting with Yam, her in her fancy robe, me in my Mickey Mouse slippers.
