Hello, Sunday.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there (child moms, fur moms, plant moms all count), and happy day to all of you that aren’t. You are no less special and important!
This weekend I finally got my act together, and got my bike rearing to go. Ever since I got back from Holland, I’d been determined to take advantage of small town life and the bike paths around my home and yesterday I finally did. I was out and about for over two hours, and when I got home was spent but happy. A Saturday tradition I hope to continue.
As for Mother’s Day, Mom is coming up for brunch. It should be a low key day, as Sunday should be, before the work day starts for us all.
The internet? Ugh. The news is just so depressing isn’t it? Well, here are some things that weren’t the worst:
Anyone an ER fan? Remember when Dr. Greene died? I do. It was probably one of the first few times TV made me cry. Anyway, I liked this little blast from the past.
Other TV things: The new Love Actually trailer!
The childless friend. I don’t have too many mom friends that constantly lament the pressures of motherhood, but here’s just an interesting read.
As excited as I am when my friends announce their pregnancies, a large part of me is a little scared for all of them because 1) we are all geriatrics and 2) you never know. Why the U.S. has such a high maternal death rate.
What the French media may have gotten right, that we didn’t. First Amendment, blah, blah, but just…think about it.
Weird things: Burial pod turns your body into a tree. Well, that’s one way to do it.
Like our grandmothers wanted to be like Julia, so we want to be like Ina. And now, with her shopping list, we can (I’d do very well with a weekly list like this. Vanilla ice cream, a woman after my own heart).
I made these for Mom and…more proof that Deb is like, an attainable Ina.
In love with Europe. An interesting read.
Travel>Stuff. Word.
Hope you’ve got your feet up and your favorite beverage in hand.
Have a good week!
