Hello, Sunday.
Well, I’m back to reality after a glorious ten break, full of friends, family, and loads of fun and tomfoolery. Take me back already.
I’m spending the weekend decompressing, having finally shaken the jet lag for good, and basking in some Crawley snuggles, light reading and a bit of writing to keep me out of the stifling heat that is taking over most of us this weekend. I’m sending you cool thoughts, should you need them.
A bit light on the readings this week since I was still OOO for much of the week. Or, at least my brain was.
Elephants truly are majestic creatures. And we don’t deserve them.
What makes a good carrot cake? I agree with this (though I do love coconut) especially the author’s take on raisins. Get that s**t out of my cake.
She may not have won this year (seeing Halep play live (!), twice last week it was no surprise Serena had a tough time), but another reason that Serena is the GOAT. If they won’t listen to your words, convince them with your winning.
Cue the non-sensical reasons that Halle Bailey shouldn’t’ be Ariel.
Does marriage make us lonelier? The Case Against Marriage (no, this is not an angry rant against the institution, but rather, I thought, an interesting read detailing just how marriage is perceived to be vs. its reality).
Processed foods are bad for us? NO SHIT.
Who remembers Graham Kerr? The Galloping Gourmet!
As I face down #Thisis38 in a mere three weeks, I’m ready for this.
As we just hit the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, it turns out that the biggest limitation of us exploring more space is…us.
Related, sort of: here’s to badass women.
That’s it- have a great week!
