Welcome…to Jurassic Park.
Actually, more accurately, welcome to Kualoa Ranch.
We half-filled our days with activities, leaving plenty of time for lounging by the pool (me) or ocean (my brother) and our first venture “off-campus” took us to Kualoa Ranch on the northern part of the island. It’s a familiar site for film aficionados, most popularly of Jurassic Park and Jumanji fame.
We were there to off-road it!
And I dared put my life of in the hands of someone I hoped would be a capable driver!
We made our way through the preserve, admiring the views
and taking some time to recreate some, erm, iconic movie scenes…
I can’t help myself.
And of course my surroundings did add to the illusion!
The grounds were truly beautiful and, as is so often the case with nature photos, a picture can’t grasp the enormity of the feeling of being right out in it.
But darn, I do try.
Afterwards we popped by the Poi Factory for an authentic Hawaiian bite to eat before taking our places back at the pool, plotting more adventures to come.
