I can’t believe that in nine years of throwing recipes and words at you that we made it through nine holiday seasons without me sharing this recipe for white chocolate reindeer chow at you. Sorry ’bout that. I’m fixing it now.
This recipe is a hand me down from one of the moms from my high school tennis team from so long ago. The original card, handwritten and folded still sits in my mom’s recipe box. While she was instructed all those years ago NEVER TO SHARE IT WITH ANYONE, as a lawyer well-versed in confidentiality agreements, rarely would I accept a term of longer than five years. Twenty-two years later, we’re sharing the recipe.
There are so many versions of this floating around out there on the webs that what’s one more? It’s a snack of many other names. Some basic (white chocolate Chex mix) to somewhat offensive (white trash or crack). We’re going with reindeer chow here because I’m keeping thing merry and bright and PG. And in this case, SUPER sugary sweet.
Let me level with you- this white chocolate reindeer chow is straight up amazing. Ah-may-zing. BUT, I’m warning you now that it’s the kind of snack that you keep eating and eating and eating until you’ve eaten yourself sick and need to go have a lie down. Be warned. If you’re prone to such uncontrolled behavior, you might want to stick with the caramel nut crunch, always a fan favorite. No less magical this time of the year.
So I’m leaving you with this if you’re still short a stock stuffer, or if Christmas ain’t your thing, something to add to your long weekend nonetheless. It’s good stuff.
If Christmas is your thing, wishing you and yours a very happy one!
