Limoncello Spritz

Limoncello Spritz

It’s been H.O.T. hot and you know I hate that. Limoncello spritz to the rescue.

If you’ve been around here for a bit, you’ll know that when I go on vacation, I can’t wait to come home and recreate something delicious from my travels to come home and share with you. However, I’ve come home from the last few trips with more than just souvenirs (RSV, damn you) and I’ve been a little slow to get back into that routine.  This is the first of a few vacation recreations that I owe you and they’re all coming up soon.

At home, I don’t really drink much else besides water (and if I’m being honest, certainly not enough of that) but when I’m out with friends, I take the occasion to be less boring and look for reasons to have people over so I can be less boring at home.

With summer in full swing, I’ve been trying out a few things and as always, travel inspires life (in more ways than one).

Limoncello Spritz

While I’m not a huge drinker in general, every once in a while I’m in the mood and that’s usually while on vacation. I love trying local favorites, so when we were in Amalfi earlier this year, I became quite a fan of limoncello. I mean, who wouldn’t?

We popped in to visit a local, family-owned limoncello factory. I brought home a few different iterations to play with, so let’s start with this Italian treat.

I never really got into the vibe of the apparel spritz, but a limoncello spritz? I can get on board with that.

In fact, I already have. Italy will do you that you.

So here’s that region’s twist on summer’s drink of the moment same proportions and all:

3:3:1

Prosecco: Limoncello: Sparkling water

Perfect for patio/deck/boat/dinner sipping, as you like.

Cheers!
