True story. #ChrissyProblems

Hello, Sunday.

How are you?

My weekend was pretty lazy, which was lovely.  Apple Crisp and I were supposed to go hang gliding yesterday but our outing was postponed due to the threat of inclement weather. When one’s feet intend on leaving the ground, better be safe than sorry. Instead, we brunched at Trellis and I decided to run some errands after. Problem: it was HOT with a thousand persent humidity which meant it felt a bajillion degrees. In other words, my own personal hell. My whole body expands like the marshmallow man and my hair looks like Hermione Granger of The Sorcerer’s Stone. I hate it- there’s a reason I spent every waking moment in the pool growing up in Florida. I arrived home, covered in sweat and crabbiness, but at least I got some new throw pillows.

Other than that, Grape and I were out dancing the night away for a bachelorette party last night, so I’m looking forward to a Sunday with my feet up reading as the rain drizzles outside. I hope yours is equally cozy and relaxing.

Here’s what I found interesting this week… (more…)

Yerba Mate Ice Cream Float

Yerba Mate Ice Cream Float

I don’t do drinks that often for you here because frankly, I’m not that creative when it comes to crafting them. I’m not a mixologist and really don’t drink much of anything on my own- alcohol or water. I’m the worst at getting those 8…

Medialunas, or Argentinian Croissants

Medialunas, or Argentinian Croissants

I haven’t made a dessert in a while. What? Sadness. Remember when I asked you what I should bake? The answer was croissants. Argentinian croissants. Medialunas. Which is not really dessert, but breakfast. A dessert-y breakfast. Here’s the deal. I never really eat croissants (except…

Hello, Sunday.

I hope you all had a most glorious weekend full of sleeping in, filling brunches, long walks, deeps talks and fluffy pancakes.

How was your week? These are the deepest thoughts that came out of mine:

So National Donut Day came and went and I must confess..I don’t really like donuts. I like sour cream glazed just fine but otherwise…meh.  I’m sorry if this makes you like me less, but I have to be honest about my feelings.  Does this mean I get kicked out of the food blogger club? It might.  When is National Bread Pudding Day? Because I’m all over that one.

Do you have a night weapon? My volleyball team and I were discussing this and no one else seemed to have one. I’ve had my grandmother’s large wooden rolling pin at the ready next to my bed since I moved into my apartment four years ago. #Paranoid

Prince George and Princess Charlotte.  My heart smiles

Sheryl Sandberg’s Facebook post was absolutely heart-crushing.  The Big Buddha died 4 1/2 years ago, and I’m pretty sure if you ask Mom it doesn’t get any easier.

I realized last week that I am the same age as Lorelai Gilmore was at the start of Gilmore Girls.  When I watched it when it was actually on, I was the same age as Rory. Oy vey.

Related: I got Mom into it and she’s plowing through Netflix.  And this happened. Happy Gilmore! (more…)

Sopa de Mani

Sopa de Mani

Let me paint a little picture for you. Yesterday when I woke up and checked the weather, I thought my phone was stuck in Estes Park when the temp flashed 45 degrees. When I took a closer look and realized it hadn’t, I shook my fist at the weather gods, grabbed my warmer coat and trudged out the door.  Despite feeling residual laziness from the past weekend and my eleven hours of slumber on Saturday night, one must eat and given the weather, one must eat soup. And chili, but the chili isn’t the star of the table today. This soup, Sopa de Mani, takes that honor.

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday. I woke up this morning at 11:30. It was almost P.M. I almost completely missed morning. The funny thing is that I didn’t feel bad about it. Not a lick. This never happens, and for the first time in what seems like a…
