I’m almost embarrassed by the title of this recipe because it belies simplicity. But this chicken bone broth is anything but basic.

Sunday Somethings

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

As long as January felt, it was anything but slow and February seems to be taking a page out of its book. Working has kept me at my desk longer than I prefer, and upcoming travel, popping up through July, is starting to stress me out a little.  Time for some deep breaths.

Still, there must be time for fun. Our fool’s spring and the 60 degree weather that has come along with it means that I got outside for some very rough tennis earlier this week. I spent Saturday on a Galentine’s Day small biz crawl around Ann Arbor, and tonight I’m hosting a little gathering for the Super Bowl.  Plus, late wake up calls makes sure that I get my zzzs in to enjoy all of the above. Trying to balance all the things out.

I hope you’re finding ways to balance it out on your end, too. For sanity.

Anyhoo, here’s what struck my fancy this week:

Are you ready for some commercials??

He looks so cuddly, doesn’t he?

I wonder when and if weighing airline passengers will be a must.  Interestingly on my flight home from NY a few weeks ago, the flight attendants told us at least three times not to move seats- on our not-full plane, they had to make sure it stayed as planned.

I have self control in a LOT of aspects of my life (that oatmeal cream pie cookie I bought yesterday? I expect to be eating it at least four days), but sadly keeping myself from a TV binge of a good show isn’t one of them.  Oof, I was up until 3 am for weeks as I got through Suits. Anyway, I guess stinge watching is a thing, and God bless those of you that can do it.

As I’ve been saying…corn>>>flour.

Did I ever tell you that Doritos are my absolute favorite, #1 chip of all time??

Speaking of game day eats

Bee vs. Hornet. Let’s go, B!

Brace yourself! A cheese crisis looms!

Ummm…glad I went to Everest before this was the ask. I just had to bring down my trash.

Loving my new sweatshirt! #midwestisbest

That’s it! Have a great week!

Short rib chili is the perfect slow cooker meal, with a rich array of spices and sauces to add depth, richness and a little umami to make this a crowd favorite.

Sunday Somethings – February 2024

Sunday Somethings – February 2024

Hello, Sunday.

Hello, February!

We made it through January, and I just heard on the news that in Michigan it was the wettest one ever, adding up all the precipitation. Feels about right. We’ve had sun the last few days which tricks my brain into thinking it’s warmer than it actually is. Note to self that 29 degrees is still cold.

I kicked off the month in New York this past week for work, learning all about AI and how it’s going to transform the legal world. Watch out, Harvey Specter.

What have I got going on this month? Here we go!

wishing: the bills were in the super bowl this year. wah.

hoping: the groundhog was right.

thinking: that elmo is on to something– how are you?

praying: for the future- for all of us because it all just seems so dire, doesn’t it?

planning: this year’s travel. the spring so far is a doozy.

dreaming: a 4 day workweek? hopefully soon.

cooking: comfort food is still on deck and i’m just wrapping up a batch of cabbage rolls, and i’m not mad about it.

eating: wings and things.

reading: the burnout

watching: fool me once. not sure i actually liked this but it did have me hooked for all 8 episodes.

loving: valentine’s day and this chocolate cake. or this tart.

going: california dreaming for work, part 1, at the end of the month.

And ICYMI this week, check this chocolate balsamic sauce!

Happy February- have a great month!
