Hey friends! 

I made a thing! I know, it seems like a hot second since I was in the kitchen, but you know, holiday leftovers, laziness, more leftovers and just an attitude of ENOUGH IS ENOUGH with the food, I needed a break, and have been subsisting on nibbles and bits until I could get my wherewithal back to cook. Hello, Sunday.

How are you? I’ve moved on from holiday movies, and have fallen deep into the part of Netflix that is taking me back to high school. You know, the movies that are this generation’s version of 10 Things I Hate About You or She’s All That.  Watching these movies through a 37-year old lens makes them equally enjoyable (and perhaps very lucky that I went to high school during the tech-free years that I did).  It also made me realize that the super cute guys featured in the movies akin to Heath Ledger and Freddie Prince, Jr. are, in fact, 17 years younger than I am. Yeesh.  I’d also like to note that this glamorized version of high school was not the one that I lived in, nor really ever desired to live in, but it is fun to watch nonetheless.

As we step closer to a new year, my vision board is ready and so are my intentions. I recently bought a photo that said Don’t Quit Your Daydream as a daily reminder that belief in your dreams is what makes them reality. I’m thinking Ms. Rowling will attest to that.

As I sit typing this with my left hand only because Crawley DEMANDS that he hold my right (pictured above), I laugh to myself and think about how I’m okay being this kind of alone.  25 Famous Women on Being Alone.

Hey! It’s the last day before the long weekend. I am READY.  SO ready.  Ready to sleep in (as much as Crawley allows; he’s a stinker), ready to be still like vegetables, lay like broccoli, watch movies, laugh, eat and be with my family. And ready to say goodbye to 2018.

We’re all still plugging through a long December, and after today, the days will get just a little bit longer, slowly but, after just a week surely noticeable, making it just a little bit easier to drag ourselves out of bed each morning. And, though it’ll still be darker than we wish, this kutya is sure to help us all with the latter .
