Sunday Somethings

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

How’s everyone doing? I’m fine, chugging along though life continues to be a little busy. I just need to be careful not to try and cram too many things into the next few weeks, or else I’ll be leaving for vacation tired.  And that’s not going to be fun for anyone.

I also need to give myself some couch and alone time to recharge my introverted batteries.  As much as I can be a social butterfly, I really do relish the days on the couch with Crawley.

What are the goings on this week?  Here we are!

In case you missed the Northern Lights spectacular last week, you may have another chance soon!

As the sun starts to shine after months of staying away, I’m definitely one of those people that feels guilty about sitting inside when I feel like I should be taking advantage of the free flowing Vitamin D. Apparently, it’s called Sunshine Guilt, and it’s a thing.

As a tennis fan, I’m in love with this.

Anyone else binge those first four Bridgerton episodes? I sure did, and while I don’t disagree about Kate + Anthony (still my fave ship), I do love this hot take on the real center story of this season – Pen & Eloise.  Never dimish the power and importance of female friendships (shout out to all my girls).

I had a friend in college that lived in Scotland for a few years for grad school and when I visited, we would be having a perfectly normal conversation, and she’d turn around and talk to a ticket agent in what can only be described as a weird, kind of Scottish version of Madonna’s continental accent.  It always made me shake my head, but the Study Abroad Accent is the real deal.

Let’s all be good tourists this summer, k?

Reset days are just so necessary– and why I’m still holding out hope that my 4 day workweek dream comes true!

Patio season is upon us! This agua Fresca is just the thing for that.

That’s all for now. Have a great week!

Sunday Somethings

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

And Happy Mother’s Day, for all of you that are someone’s mom – even if your simply mothering a humble houseplant.  I’m spending the day with mine, and indulging in some cake.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I took a much needed brain break on Friday and used the weekend to check 90% of the things off my compounding to-do list. Is there any greater feeling heading into Monday than that?

I hope you’re stepping into the week with good vibes and if you’re not yet, I wish them your way!

Here are some thoughts and musings:

Do you need a brain break? Here are some tips if you need a mental health day.

Did you see the Northern lights this weekend? I missed Friday but was so glad I got a redo on Saturday! Here’s what it was all about.

I saw Challengers on Friday and despite being a huge tennis fan, found it to be a double fault. Hard pass.

Sitting on a bunch of United miles? You’re now going to be able to share them with friends and family

I’m in the market for a dress to wear to a wedding in a few weeks and perusing online, I saw one that I loved- and then noticed it was “juniors.” What’s the difference, I thought? Turns out, nothing really.

I’ve been hearing a lot of radio ads for whole body deodorant and I wondered who it was really for – and who were these people that regularly didn’t shower for 72 hours (notwithstanding the long-weekend camping trip).

I watched 10 Things I Hate About You last week on the plane home, and I think it’s worth a rewatch! Turns out even Julia wanted to be like Kat.

Do I need to make this chocolate cake?

That’s all folks. Have a great week!

Monday Musings

Monday Musings

Hello, Monday.

I’m back on the road again with a weeklong trip to California. Some north, some south, some work, some fun. Balance, exemplified. It meant that this past Saturday was crammed with all the pre-trip to-dos, which of course take priority over everything else (except our outing to see Mamma Mia!).  Such as it is.

Little B is watching Crawley, which hopefully is going to go better than it did a few weeks ago when I went to Nashville.  He is the main reason I just hate leaving the house at all. Little squidge.

Anyway, not much caught my eye this week. When I have a trip looming at the end of the week it tends to be hard to focus on anything else. Still, a few nuggets:

As summer travel is about to kick off, here are a few tips and tricks that Google Maps can offer that you may not have realized.

I am here for the soft life and doing my best to live it.

Cats are ridiculous and wily creatures.

Consumer protection for us frequent flyers, stateside. But will it reeeeallly work? Seems too good to be true.

LOTR back in theatres. Are we in a time warp?

Thinking of doing a clothing subscription this month. Do you have a fave?  I’ve been thinking about this one. Closet needs a refresh.

Cinco de Mayo is coming up, and I’ve got your potluck menu here.

ICYMI- this week’s citrus margarita!

Are we no-churning yet?

Have a great week!
