Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

Whew, it’s been a week. After spending last weekend in Iowa, I promptly hit the skies for NYC for work and it was a whirlwind of a time.  Work stuff went off without a hitch, and Yam came up from DC to join me for the ride as we snuck in a few good meals in between all the hubbub.  Restaurant recreation coming at ya later this week- and it’s a good one!

Otherwise, I spent yesterday morning in a bit of a panic as Crawley was slow to recover from the trauma of the vet and his rabies shot, and I spent a good part of the day praying that he would eat so that we would not have to make a repeat trip to the vet.  Happy to say that he’s back to his jolly self, though still a little groggy, but more willing to cuddle than hide away in the corner of my closet. Poor little squidge.

Getting back in the swing and into normal, the world as we know it continues to be the opposite.

A 17-Year-Old Was Told He Couldn’t Attend High School, Even Though He’s A US Citizen. Another day, another problem.

Why are parents coming knowing that they could be separated from their children?  Dear, what would you do?

And baby makes 7.

For Kate Spade, her name was everything- and nothing.

A dinner party, in the age of social media. “I make some really great stuff, but I don’t always post about it—honestly, sometimes I just want to eat it.” Word.

The psychology behind social media lurkers.  I’m mildly guilty as charged.

How do you know you’ve meet ‘the one’?  Hear it from those in the know (but it also, of course, begs the question of whether there is actually a ‘the one’).

Why you should learn another language. Estoy intentando!

The essence of our current situation is estrangement of meaning. The Jacket Heard Round the World: Once again Melania Trump channels the American unconscious.

Thinking I need to make this salad.

…and probably this ice cream.

Have a great week!
