Hello, Sunday.
It’s been a busy week, with timing going faster than I can keep up with, so when the weekend came to be, I was determined to make it close to a perfect weekend. So far, so good.
Sunrise tennis followed by catching up with old, long-lost-but-not-forgotten friends, a bit of poolside followed by a little indulgence was just what Saturday ordered. Sunday, I hit repeat.
I hope your weekend is equally everything you want it to be. If not quite, there’s still time.
Last week I jumped too quickly through the weekend and into the week, so some of these readings might be a little old hat to you, but if not, I find them still relevant and interesting:
Eating while Immigrant: the joy of stinky food. While I was not bringing dahl and rice for lunch, I begged my mom just the same to pack us lunchables and fruit roll ups and all the prepackaged delicious snacks that we were never allowed to have. It’s interesting: growing up in Miami, with a mom who made really any kind of food you can think of, stinky food from other kids didn’t really phase us. And that makes us lucky.
11 things you should know about my child-free marriage. I’m not married but as the perpetual single girl (who’s not mad about it!), I get it. I’m not sure what’s in the cards for me, to be honest, but I’m certainly not sitting around sulking at and crying over pictures of babies and happy couples. I’m running a business, and planning a trip to Scotland.
How would you answer this question?
So…who wants to go to Lithuania?
Between two worlds. A thoughtful read.
Why do we need to sleep? Science it’s sure but I know…if I didn’t sleep, I’d have no friends.
Anthony Bourdain’s last interview.
When Mr. Rodgers’ is your actual neighbor.
You’re welcome for that last one.
Have a great week!
