Grey Goose Le Fizz

Grey Goose Le Fizz

Summer brunches are a lovely thing.  Casual eats with no one really in a rush to get on with his or her day.  Friends leisurely mulling around good food and good drinks as the day stretches from late morning through evening and you’re all still gathered around the table, only half-wondering where the time has gone, full but not stuffed from a day of easy grazing.  Sounds lovely, right? Because brunch is best done with a cocktail in hand, and might I suggest this Grey Goose Le Fizz?

I’m not one try just any fancy cocktail because liquor isn’t usually my thing. Most often I stick to my favorites, and would more likely than not opt simply for wine or beer over an overly sweet, overly strong drink that will have me lying on the floor faster than I can say, “I’ll have another.” This one, the le fizz, I first had while at Wimbledon, the signature cocktail of our hospitality tent, or at least so it seemed. We walked in the door and straight away a lovely hostess (in an envy-inducing Ted Baker dress) placed one in my hand. One glass led to two, which led to three and I felt not too worse for the wear and certainly ready to keep going. Good thing match play started that forced us out of the tent, or who knows when this train would have ended!

I did, of course, sample other option, but this one just happened to be my favorite!

The ingredients are simple:

Grey Goose vodka

St. Germain elderflower liquor

lime juice

club soda

grey goose le fizz

And a festive stir stick to give it an air of something special.

All specifically proportioned for a lovely drink that doesn’t taste as strong as it actually is.

A shake and a stir and you’re all set!
