Hello, Sunday.
What a week. What another freaking exhausting week. Well done so far, 2021.
I, like a lot of you, were frozen to my TV on Wednesday, much in the same way as we did on that day back in 2001. Thursday was equally draining and the highlight of my week when I was saved from my own thoughts and the internet by my friends when we took a blissful hike outside. Good weather, fresh air, great friends- an instant game changer and necessary mood lifter. THEN my Bills brought back a W (thanks to a little help from Niagara Falls!) in a to-the-end nail biter. Playoffs, we go on. I hope you also found a few things to bring you joy this weekend.
I’ve taken my decorations down (goodbye gnome family), but have added other little touches of comfort to replace them, getting into full hygge mode. With 2021 still a big question mark, I feel like this winter is going feel a little bit longer than those in the past. Getting the most prepared for it that I can.
Here is a bit of what I took away from this week and last. My little “did you see this?” to you.
The unacknowledged grief of 2020.
Fascinating: The News of 2020, after dark.
Related to my hygge comment, my friend pointed out that this January is going to really be harder than the others because of the lack of anything to look forward to…so here’s a little reminder of how to at least try to make the best of it.
The US is mapping a perimeter trail and it frankly, sounds pretty cool to me.
The new COVID variation, explained.
Tell me you didn’t eat Vienetta in the 90s. A little too excited they’re bringing it back!
Food for thought. Have you ever met someone with your same name? I have not since my last name is pretty unique here in the US and I’m not sure how many Chrissys are running around India. Anyway, here’s the tale of one who has.
This was fun: hidden signals in people’s clothes, around the world.
Eats for this week: Veg Tortilla Soup
Have a good one! Chin up!
