Last week, I ventured overseas. It was something that, like many of us, I hadn’t done in over two years. But I had reached my breaking point and mentally, I needed it. I craved it. I wanted out of my box, and so in what was a very last minute decision, I packed my bags with 8 days to spare and went to Andorra.
I joined up with 12 other folks and Intrepid Travel for a week of hiking, biking and rafting, with some zip lining and canyoning thrown in for good measure. Just to ensure that we were kept on our toes, ya know?
We had two days of hiking on our to-do, exploring the nooks and crannies of the part of the Pyrenees around Soldeu, a cozy little mountain town that was near enough a city to not be completely remote, but far enough away that you can forget the city was there.
After getting situated with our new surroundings and each other, up the hills we went.
And I mean UP.
Up and up some more.
Over the river and through the woods.
Stopping to rest and enjoy the view,
Go for a swim (only the brave among us)
and of course, pose for pictures!
All that hard work, after all, should not go undocumented.
In the end, all those steps were worth it for the most amazing views.
But of course what goes up, must come down and so down the mountain we went, in search of showers, snacks and rest for weary feet.
Ready for biking the next day.
