Monday Musings

Monday Musings

Hello, Monday.

I took a much needed quick escape to Chicago this weekend to visit with a good friend, eat some fabulous food, and take mental break from world at large, from work and the packing and moving that has consumed much of my mind and focus the last month. While I’m glad I don’t live there everyday anymore, it’s fun to come back, walk in my footsteps of years past, get a little fancy and go out on the town (still being sure we are home by the very decent hour of 11 because #Thisis40).

Was it the best time to leave town? Probably not, but I got back yesterday with renewed enthusiasm to set up the house, and bring Crawley into the mix to make it home.

Hopefully it doesn’t take him too long to love it as much as I do, especially now that his blankets and toys are back in sight and while his furry friend Fig keeps us all company while Mom’s in NY on assignment.

There’s too much going out there sometimes, so I hope you can take these finds today to lighten the load and start Monday off on a high note:

Whew. Talk about bad drunk decisions.

How to not give a f*&k and not feel sorry about it and also not be an asshole.  I feel like we all need to adopt this attitude with at last one thing in our lives.

The town that McDonald’s is suing. Frankly, I sort of want to live in this town.

The resurgence of orzo. I don’t like pasta at all, but I will eat orzo by the cupful without a thought. Bring it on!

Are these airplane cabins the future of flying?

This is weird, but I find the science of poo fascinating. So, in that vein, do bookstores make us have to poo?

I bought this sweater about a month ago thanks to an Instagram ad and I LOVE IT. I may just get it in another color.

Are we talking about Easter food yet? Keep this lamb on the back burner.

My friend published her first ever short story! Give it a read!

And finally, I’ve been recently re-appreciating The Chicks (formerly known as The Dixie Chicks) and wanted to remind you of them in case you need to re-appreciate them, too (currently listening: Travelin’ Soldier).

That’s it. Have a great week!
