Sunday Somethings

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

Whew, it’s been a week. I got home from The House of Mouse without luggage and with some hodgepodge sort of non-COVID virus that took me out most of last week and the early part of this one. It’s been more than a minute since I’ve been sick at all, so the feeling of helpless that typically accompanies my sickbed was just exaggerated. My mom even sent some soup from 45 minutes away, clearly not confident in my ability to keep myself well nourished during my ailment.

I’m feeling better but gosh, I blinked and Christmas is somehow in a week. WHAAAT? Despite putting my tree up a week earlier than usual, I feel like I’ve missed the season. Anyway, a week to embrace it to the max.

I hope you are surviving the holiday hustle and allow yourself some time with feet up and egg nog in hand. Boozy nog, preferably.

Even though I was a bit foggy in the head all week, this is what squeaked through.

Priorities first. Are we Christmas baking? Here are my favorite holiday bakes, adding this one from last year into the mix. Fruitcake ain’t so bad when it’s this Sri Lankan version, and this and that boozy cocktails will keep you feeling all the glee, all night long.

Dictionary.com’s word of the year is….(surprising? perhaps not).

How to name group texts. This guy’s expression sort of makes it. I do have one group text, called Be Magical, because it’s our collective life motto.

Did I ever mention that Target’s holiday PJs are my fave? I just can’t help myself from getting a pair every year.

Pet owners, you get this.

The benefits of a real Christmas tree. I’m looking at you, Ted (Ted is my Christmas tree. Ted is a real boy.)

I definitely cancelled a few plans this week – how to know when you’re too sick to hang.

I always love these round-ups: a year in pictures.

More to come! Have a great week!
