Sunday Somethings- June 2023

Hello, Sunday.

Hello, June!

I’m home from my travels, and very much looking forward to sharing stories of my travels from Amalfi to Paris with you, as well as a few recipe recreations in the next few weeks. But do you know what else I’m looking forward to? Being home.

After returning from my adventures Wednesday carrying with me some virus that mom and I picked up in Paris, I’ve been relegated mostly to the couch, recovering and getting reacquainted with the reality of non-vacation life.

You know I love travel, but I feel like the last month has merely been a state of limbo, a countdown in between two long trips (Jordan in March, and then this latest). I’m happy to say that aside from a quick jaunt to Chi-town in the next weeks, I’m grounded for the summer and not really mad about it at all.

Summer is the best time to be at home, and I’m excited about afternoons at the lake (#lakelife), Saturday picnics, morning tennis, long days with late sunsets, lazy Sundays and all the other things that make Michigan summers the envy of all others.

With that, here’s what I’m looking at this month!

wishing: the lake was warm enough for paddleboards already!

hoping: that this 90 degree weather is the exception, not the rule, for the rest of the summer.

thinking: of all the adult life to-dos that await me this month. eye doctor, reg doctor and HVAC, all this week.

praying: for good job things for someone special.

planning: nothing! at least for now.

dreaming: dreamless sleeps, with my crawley beside me.

watching: white collar. and six.

reading: go tell the bees that i am gone

wearing: my favorite pelo apparel. bye long sleeves! also my new fave bathing suit.

eating: caprese. vacation habits die hard.

drinking: iced tea

That’s it! What’s on your docket for the month? I hope you have a good one!
