X Marks the Spot – Petra
My trip to UNESCO heritage site Petra.
Hello, Monday.
Gosh, doesn’t it seem like it takes the same amount of time to catch up from vacation as the amount of time that you’re on it? Being completely wiped last weekend with exhaustion and a mild case of airplane- something, I finally had this weekend to catch up with a few friends and get adult crap done and that meant I didn’t have a chance to sit and breathe until yesterday afternoon. At that point, I tucked in on the couch with a Crawley who was not feeling his 100% (tummy troubles), put on Marry Me (no shame) and got some life admin done. One task off the list at a time.
That included figuring out the last of the logistics for my next trip in a month (#AmalfeelingGood (? – still working on it)). It’s gonna be a good time.
Anyway, how are you? More travel tales coming at you this week. Until then, here’s what caught my eye in the frenzy of the last week:
A case for oatmeal (my winter breakfast staple).
There’s a “new water” apparently.
Cheat sheet- spring get-together menu.
How to be more wise.
Finally read this one– highly recommend!
I hate to remind you that it’s almost swimsuit season, but I recently discovered this brand for the sporty cuts and I’m digging them.
If you need a new set of hikers for the summer, these are my faves.
That’s all she wrote. Have a great week!
Hello, Monday. Hello, April! Also, wishing you a holy Easter/Passover/Ramadan – if you observe. It’s apparently quite the big deal that they’re all falling together. Perhaps a subtle note from the universe that hey, we’re all just trying to live our best lives, so be…
Shall we cake? I say so, and therefore I present this grapefruit drizzle cake.
Homemade maple sage sausage is the meaty base to a delicious breakfast sandwich, enveloped by a flaky biscuit and topped with cheese and an egg.
Gougères are cheesy pastry puffs made from homemade choux dough laced with sharp cheddar and Parmesan and make a savory, golden, crisp delicious pastry.
We are coming upon the season of fruit desserts. I mean, berry season is juuuust around the corner, but I’m offering up a completely different way to crumble- with this delicious fresh pineapple crumble.
Coconut chai oatmeal cookies are an elevated take on traditional oatmeal cookies, incorporating shredded coconut and ginger, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom.
