Rosemary Grapefruit Agua Fresca

Rosemary Grapefruit Agua Fresca

Sometimes, you need a drink. Sometimes you need that kind of drink, but sometimes you just need something simple and fresh and different, and not that kind of drink and so, for that latter occasion, I’m present to you this rosemary grapefruit agua fresca.

Didn’t I just give you something with rosemary as an accent? Yes, yes I did and I stand by my decision to do it again. I’ve just been in a zone and in a mood about it lately, and I’m sharing that good, herby mood with you.

The idea for this came from work, believe it or not (for those of you that don’t now, my real work has nothing to do with herbs or drinks, unfortunately).  Every one in a while I have to go to an event and schmooze, and when I do, it’s often catered by one of a few companies. One of those companies always offers a lovely agua fresca as an alcoholic alternative and I just love it every time and always get it as an alternative to wine and beer.

When I attended one of those dinners last month, I made a note to recreate it at home for you, and as a reminder to me that it’s a lovely drink- perfect for a brunch, a cocktail party, or enhanced with alcohol as you wish.

The truth also is that I’m still relying on Home Chef to feed me, and therefore haven’t been spending time in the kitchen making anything more exciting than my breakfast.  And I’m going on vacation next week, so easy does it when it comes to mealtime these days.

Anyway, back to this drink. Grapefruit juice adds the tang, honey some sweetness, lime for pizzaz, sparkling water for, well, sparkle, and fresh rosemary for a little something extra.

And it never hurts to have a little something extra.
