Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

The sun is shining and it’s a beautiful weekend here in Michigan. It really does something great to the mood when the weather outside is all kinds of perfect, doesn’t it?

I hope that people can keep their heads on straight and not undo all the good, hard, sitting at home work that we’ve all done to flatten the curve. Sitting at home by oneself is so much harder when the lake, the deck, the pools and barbecues call. In short, summer.  I know I’ve already got a few bathing suits bookmarked for purchase!

Just a friendly reminder that Mother’s Day is next weekend. Near or far, take a few to celebrate Mom. Mine is getting a cake, to be enjoyed together from a safe distance on the porch.  You will see said cake later this week!

I hope you are all as well as can be.  Here’s what caught my eye this week:

About that Mother’s Day cake, here’s one from a few years ago that was a HUGE hit.

Why 1999 was the greatest year in music history. My 18 year old self would most certainly agree. #HitmeBabyOneMoreTime

I love this photograph series

A drive-thru strip club? The heart wants what it wants, even in the era of COVID.

In case you need it, how to pair wine with your quarantine snacks, properly.

Eat more french fries? I’d sign up for that. Lucky Belgians.

TRUE: Why video chats are wearing us out.

The travel journals of an artist. BEAUTIFUL. And aren’t I jealous that I lack such skills? (P.S. Check out his insta!)

Smart containment. How society can come back.

Well, shit. Not locusts, but…

In case you’re jumping on this trend: 29 bread recipes to make at home. And if you are then, you might need…

How to: sandwich.

That’s what I’ve got here. Have a great week!

Hello, Sunday. How was everyone’s weekend? Mine has been good, full of enough to do, but not too much that I felt like a headless chicken. Lots of catching up with old friends and new, and a farewell brunch to wish Fava well on her […]

Emily: “So I suppose this is it. George: I suppose it is. Emily: [hugs George, holds on] George: You have to let go, Emily. Emily: But what if I don’t want to, George?   What if…what if this is a mistake? George: Then that’s what […]

  • Hi Chrissy and good morning to you. The sun is also shining here in sunny southern Spain. I hope you can make the most of the good weather

    • Thanks! Do you live in Spain or were you trapped there because of the shutdowns?

  • Hi Chrissy, I live where the sun is always shining. Ever since I was a little boy I was a dreamer and believed that we should be able to live anywhere in the world as a free person just like in the movie ‘Born Free’ There should be no restrictions on travel and where you want to live. Unfortunately, the world we know is not free and never will be because of man’s quest for money and power. I tried those principles but I soon realised it wasn’t what I wanted. I wanted to be free, really free so I changed my lifestyle, gave up eating flesh, sold everything for a life on the road. To answer your question, Yes, I do live in Spain at the moment but I’m not trapped here at all. I was born in South Africa from British parents and have dual passports. I have been to many places, made many friends but my real purpose is to try to free the world and make a tiny difference.

I don’t have a county to call my home. My home is where I lay my hat. Shortly, I’ll be off to the Netherlands and then on to Vietnam. I love going from one culture to another. And I’m not someone to worry about the awful state of the world. The world with its lack of freedom, love and understanding only has itself to blame. My bags are always packed and I’m ready to take flight no matter what and no matter where. I was born to travel. PS: I’d love my final resting place to be in Costa Rica.
