Hello, Sunday.
Thank you for excusing my absence this past week – I’ve been taking a much needed, long-awaited trip down to Disney for some R&R. It’s a trip that has been canceled three times in the past year and we all have been craving a little bit of magic. More on that later.
I’ve been down here since last Saturday and while the heat makes me turn into a monster of epic proportions and discomfort, the pool feeds my soul in a way that only a Florida kid can understand. It’s amazing what a little chlorine and a tan can do.
Because I’ve spent the whole week on my computer only as long enough to clock my 9-5 duties, I’m lagging on the Sunday reads. However, this article about what happened leading up to the kill of Osama bin Laden ten (10!) years ago, was fascinating enough and long enough to keep you enthralled for quite some time. I was actually on a mountain in Nepal when the news broke back in 2011, so I felt a bit removed from the whole announcement and exuberance of it, but this read was captivating from start to finish.
Otherwise, it’s gonna be May! Let’s play:
wishing: everything was as easy as it is on vacation.
hoping: these good vibes can continue when i get home.
thinking: of my to-do list for the rest of the year.
praying: for India
planning: vacations!
eating: all the seafood. all the ice cream. all the bread.
wearing: this bathing suit top. loving it!
watching: right now? Pretty Woman!
reading: The Forgotten Room. so good!
missing: my Crawley. definitely going through snuggle withdrawal.
thankful: for my vaccine. for my health. for my family’s health. that we are lucky enough to be able to take family vacations. for Chloe, my cat sitter who takes such good care of Crawley when I’m away.
wondering: what the future looks like.
dreaming: of good things to come.
Have a nice week and a great month!
