Monday Musings

Monday Musings

Hello, Monday.

It was an unexpectedly busy weekend in these parts so I’m using this bonus day off to get caught up a little. Saturday was busy with a friend date and dinner followed by an EPIC football game by my Bills. If they keep playing like they did Saturday night, we’ll be heading to the Super Bowl! One can hope. Authentic Buffalo Wings for when they do!

I know I’ve been heavy on the desserts around here lately, but I’ve got another one for you later this week courtesy of a work colleague. I’ve been a bit of a rut with the real foods lately but hopefully inspiration will strike again!

Have I been saying that the last two years? Yes, and while I haven’t been that successful at garnering inspiration, I do try.

I don’t even know what happened this week, but I did save a few bits and bobs to share. Come as you are, take what you need.

Wouldn’t we all love to spend eternity with our furry friends? While I think we already do when we go wherever we go, now some states let you share your final resting place. A happy thought.

Almost heaven, West Virginia. Or should I say Hogwarts.

New cookie alert: I haven’t ordered Girl Scout cookies in a few years, but maybe it’s time to find the neighborhood Daisy…

I’m 40. Making friends at this age is hard, which really sucks when we’re all working from home and might be needing some new friends!

Betty White. Bob Saget. Why TV deaths hit us so hard. I’m still sad about Alan Thicke.

Should we always be making our bacon twisted? Maybe!

Why don’t planes have Wi-Fi yet?? I, for one, am okay with the fact that flying gives me 2-10 hours of disconnected bliss. I was a bit taken aback that I could be WhatsApped on my way to and from Hawaii.  Long live airplane mode!

The travel bug is hitting me hard. Anyone else? Where are we going?

Interesting. Why some cakes just taste better the next day.

I just can’t stop laughing at this.

Saturday would have been my dad’s 82nd birthday, so I’m dropping some of his favorites here for you:  the perfect cup of tea, peanut butter cookies, peanut brittle and this mandarin ginger cake which he never got to try, but know he would have loved.

Have a great week!
