Blue Skies and Blue Seas, Capdepera

Blue Skies and Blue Seas, Capdepera

Ready for a road trip?

We moved on from our city adventures and head to the northeast or so corner of Mallorca to a little resort town called Capdepera.  We picked up our mini-electric toy car (which Ham still misses daily, it seems), found the best radio station blaring good ol’ late 90s-early-2000s American pop hits, and set off for our next destination.

Why Capdepera? I chose it based on nothing else other than some internet recommendations and landing a cheap hotel.

We found ourselves in gorgeous digs with a very much off-season vibe.

But still, the view from our room…

Capdepera

I remembered that while we were enjoying temps around 40 degrees more than what we were used to back home, to Spaniards, it was still cold!

Too cold to swim in the many gorgeous pools that were spread over our resort, and too cold to take a dip in the Mediterranean.

Cold water or not, it was definitely not too cold to enjoy the spectacular views, so we set off to find some lunch.

The views were so spectacular, I couldn’t get over it.

As we watched two paddle boarders marauder through the blue waters, I tried to convince Ham that it was a sign that we should be out there next!

Turns out, there was no place to rent said paddleboards, so we had to settle for a hike.

With the sunrise calling us up the adjacent hill, we set off after breakfast.

Our path became a bit…winding and…treacherous when we lost the trail and had to choose our own adventure through the steep brush (in which I saw A SNAKE), but we made it to the top.

I’d say the view was worth it.

Don’t you agree?

After a quick foot soak in the freezing cold pool, we set off to the beach for sun and sand.

Before heading to town for some tapas. As one does in Spain.

…and gelato, as one does in Europe.

Sunned and stuffed and ready for the next day.
