Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

I’m back! Vacation was great, and as always, reality hit harder than preferred when I got back.  I fell back into my normal routines without skipping a beat, and almost like last week’s adventures in Crete were a far off memory rather than seven days away.  I’ve been sleeping off the jet lag with an average of 10 hours of sleep a night, and I’m not mad about it. Doesn’t it seem like that last, dreaded, 16 hour travel day erases any refreshment and clarity that comes from 9 days off?

Anyway, I can’t wait to tell you all about #MyPieceofGreece later this week, but for now, let’s rip those headlines.

Um, yeah, so The Queen died while I was on my trip and while it’s old news, it’s still pretty surreal. My travel group of 11 boasted at least one Brit and another handful of people from The Commonwealth, so as our phone alerts all started digging simultaneously during dinner with the news, we were all stunned into silence, and promptly toasted to Her Majesty with the first bubbles we could secure. To keep it light, here are some of Lillibet’s best quotes.

Do you know any COVID Super-dodgers? (Raises hand and knocks on wood).

A few quick tips on how to be less depleted by the time Friday rolls around. Food for thought, as I know my calendar is already feel full this fall.

Does it really make sense to separate sports by sex? I’m lucky enough to play one that actually does mix us together (hello mixed doubles!) and I’ll say that in my long tennis life, I play with men 99.9% of the time and you know, I kick some ass out there when I do it.

First Serena, now Roger.  Eras ending.

Flashback- could Ferris Bueller really be done? This ex-Chicagoan says, why not? Also, should we all re-watch this classic?

Meghan of Montecito. For the royalists out there. I don’t think heads will roll over this one.

Don’t we need a feel-good watch? Here you go. Sneakers for all!

ICYMI when I was gone – coffee peanut butter ice cream & five spice pumpkin pasta. Win-wins.

Could cities really go car-free? Some are trying.

My recent airplane watches:  West Side Story, All My Life, Chasing Liberty (to recover from all the sobbing from watching All My Life) and HP and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. It was a long flight.

Currently watching:  Ghosts, UK version.

That’s it. Have a great week!
