Shades of Pink, Elafonissi Beach

Shades of Pink, Elafonissi Beach

I hope you’ll indulge me as I share just a little more from my Grecian adventures, but I couldn’t close that chapter without telling you about the pink beach.

As the leaves here in Michigan are starting to rapidly take on their annual golden hue, it reminds me that just a month ago I was dipping my toes in the warm waters of the Mediterranean, surrounded by the vibrant colors in both sea and sky painted by Mother Nature’s magic.

A pink beach!

How it it though?

Turns out that the pink hue comes from the plethora of broken seashells it contains.

With such a stunning backdrop from top to bottom, our group could just not wait to dive right in.

And pose for a picture or two.

Should you find yourself in Crete, I highly recommend hitting up this spot. Go early in the day though- or else you’ll be hard pressed to find a spot on the sand.

Which isn’t that big a deal since you’ll really just want to spend all your time in the water!

Marveling at the teal waters, mountainous backdrops and actually-pink sand.

And catching a few stolen moments.

It was a marvelous end to a marvelous trip. And while the sunset on this adventure, I can’t wait to see where it will rise on the next.

Until next time, Greece!
