Hello, Sunday. This felt like a long week, for no real reason. For me the days slowly dragged one by one until Friday and then I realized we were already one week in to March. I mean, how even? What happened to February? The days…

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

How are you? I hope you are well, as can be in these times, anyway.

I had Monday off and if it didn’t just feel like the longest short week? Tuesday felt like Thursday, but I’ll chalk it all up to the fact that it was so horribly cold here all week that I found myself trapped inside for most of it- foregoing my daily walks. Being trapped in the house when you’re already feeling trapped in life just…sucks. I’ve found myself just bored and uninterested in everything and as such have been going to bed earlier from having nothing to do. Talking to my friends- I’m not alone.

Anyway, yesterday I got out for some much needed fresh air and in-person conversation and that made all the difference. With temperatures on the up for at least the ten-day forecast, the extra Vitamin D will be very welcome.

I also managed to find some kitchen inspo which has been hard to come by, even with my #WhereHasChrissyBeen? recipe tour keeping me somewhat busy. Somewhere in the past three months, I forgot how to cook with…flavor, and my Friday night dinner of steamed shrimp and broccoli was the low point that made me reevaluate my weekly grocery list. Looking forward to deliciousness to come this week. Can I tell you that I made the ribollita AGAIN? It’s just so lovely and it keeps me warm on the inside and helps me eat the rainbow without a second thought. Plus, it means that a fresh Italian loaf made its way back into my kitchen – always the high point of any grocery run.

In other news, I’ve become reacquainted with The Muppet Show thanks to Disney plus, and related to that, I once sat on Jim Henson’s lap for a flight when I was just a wee one and screamed the whole time. Mom didn’t know who “the nice man sitting next to her” was until the flight attendant told her when she was getting off the plane. Claim to fame, right there. There’s a reason that Kermit is my OG TV crush.

The internet? Check out what I found!

Very proud of my friend Sabrina on her first feature in Food & Wine!

One example of neighbors actually being neighbors.

With every tragedy, there are glimpses of humanity.

As many of you know, I was a Katrina evacuee, and I’ll never forget those who gave their time, housing, help, resources and funds to help me and my classmates get through that semester. In that vein, here are some organizations helping those out in Texas. Also, Baby2Baby and always, the American Red Cross.

How’s this for ice skating?!

So much to not laugh about, how about some good vaccine humor? Moderna Love.

I thought this was good to know info: how much snow can your roof hold?

Do YOU believe in ghosts? A thread. CHILLS, man.

In case you’re looking for a winter project, Beef Wellington isn’t all that scary. And neither is puff pastry!

And finally, I can’t be the only one with too many cans of white beans in her pantry. Here are some ideas for us all.

Have a great week!
