What's New?

Sunday Somethings

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday. We have one more weekend before Christmas takes over the world (it’s true, whether you celebrate it or not) and are you ready? I’m ready for a few days off (even though, let’s be real, I sort of just had three 3-day workweeks…

My Holiday Cookies

My Holiday Cookies

In a pleasant surprise, I got a text from Fava last night asking me for a no-fuss-but-different holiday cookie suggestion, and it got me thinking about all the goodies that grace our holiday dessert tray year after year, despite the fact that our the number around our…

Peruvian Hot Chocolate

Peruvian Hot Chocolate

As I really get into the swing of December and the holidays and the next month, I’m heading back to my blogger roots and showcasing a few traditional holidays eats from around the globe, starting with this Peruvian hot chocolate. After all, no matter where you live, it’s pretty hard to escape the sense of merriment and peace that inevitable comes with this time of year, and the goodwill among men that seems forgotten for the other 11 months seems to be at the year’s high each holiday.

Monday Musings

Monday Musings

Hello, Monday. I spent the weekend doing weekend things, since it was my first one back in a few, with Thanksgiving and Disney taking up my Saturdays and Sundays the last two weeks. It was a good one, with necessary things like laundry and cleaning,…

Falling for Providence

Falling for Providence

A bit overdue, it’s time to tell you about my last little jaunt to Providence. It’s hard to believe in just a few short weeks we’ve traded our rakes for snow boots, but here we are, looking at Providence in all it’s fall glory.

Sunday Somethings

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

Well, Thanksgiving weekend was quite a success. It was relaxing and the long hours of doing nothing didn’t seem so long. It was just the three of us this year, and that was a bit different and frankly, weird, compared to years’ past, but since we all like each other, it was a nice time! Yesterday I meant to exercise and accidentally took a nap instead which, I guess I needed it!

The news, do we need it? Well, in any case, here are some things.

Could Brexit be overturned? Seems quite likely…

Feel a cold coming on? Bon Apetit says to try this and I’ve bookmarked it for just such an occasion. It actually reminds me of my super awesome gingerade (have you made it yet?).

Do you crave Arby’s?  It might say something about which way you lean.

You’re morally obligated to call out your racist relatives during the holidays. It just might help the world be a slightly better place.

#Couplegoals?

Certainly how I’d like to be in my 80s.

Harry Potter love.

Everything you know about obesity is wrong. An excellent read, and for someone that teetered on the chubby side for so much of my formative years, I remember the absolute dread of going to the doctor to have these conversations.

Is cheesecake actually pie? A debate. I am inclined to think so.  Still, cake > pie.

And finally, Should we wear sweatpants when working from home? Absolutely yes, WSJ.  And Twitter is the best.

Oh and finally, I published an e-book of 15 of my faves that I’ve cooked over the years and it’s yours if you sign up email notifications each time I publish a post (plus, an extra special note every once in a while!).  If you’re into it, sign up here!

Have a great week!

My Favorite Things: 2018

My Favorite Things: 2018

The tradition continues with my third annual My Favorite Things post.  To reiterate, I’m not necessarily suggesting that every person on your list might find these to be nice presents, but merely that they were among the things that I liked, and used and loved regularly,…
