Sunday Somethings

Aloha, Sunday.

Hello from Hawaii!  I’m still here living the Aloha life for a few more days. Today is our last day to be tourists before I buckle down and get to working tomorrow and it’s been great. A mix of “stuff” and pool time – the best way to be. I admit that I can’t wait to be home a little bit because it seems everyone I know on the mainland has fully embraced the holidays already and I can’t wait to join in (and see my Crawley, always). Hard to think of egg nog and sweaters when I got a healthy sunburn in 80 degree weather today.

I’ve stayed off the news this week, but managed to dig of a few bits of light reading.

Don’t you just love “Am I that asshole?” Here’s a gem.

Vietnamese is being taught in college! Very cool.

I can so related to this: a library of misremembered books.

What about yourself do you take pride in? I think, for me, is that I can make people feel comfortable. I joke that I’m “everyone’s best friend”- that it’s my super power to make strangers feel like we can be best friends and in a world where people seem unapproachable and unwelcoming, I’m glad I can be the anti-of that.

I’m working on some contracts for these studies at work- science is cool. And helpful!

Reminder: boredom is okay!

It’s baking season, and here are some solid loaf-pan cakes for your choosing.

This is one of my THB faves because cardamom.

As the world opens uncertainly, I’m still keeping not-too-far, local, destinations on my list and hey, here are some ideas (hey Michigan!).

Finally, ice cream for the season.

Have a great week!
