Monday Musings

Monday Musings

Hello, Monday. For the first time since I was probably in high school, I have President’s Day off! It’s like, the only thing I had to look forward to this month, so I’m embracing it the best I can in this pandemic life. Movie night…

Sunday Somethings

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday. I’m tucked in like many of you are, ready for the deep freeze of this week. There’s nothing really more to say about that then…good luck, ya’ll. This week was crazy busy. I ended it out of breath and patience, with a messy…

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday. Are you tired of pictures of Crawley yet? I mean, how could you be? Yesterday was the first “normal” day I’d had in a while. My quarantine bubble and I went out for some socially-distanced, outdoor masked ice skating, followed by to-go food…

Pudding Chomeur

I’m kicking off the “where has Chrissy been?” tour with Canada, my home away from home for much of my childhood, and for that, I’m digging into pudding chomeur.

Sunday Somethings

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday. What a week, what a week. Having Monday off was a joy, but then it seemed like all the rest of my to-dos were crammed into the remaining four days, muddied my inauguration, and by Friday I still felt behind. Oh well, I…

Monday Musings

Monday Musings

Hello, Monday.

I am one of the lucky ones that have today off, and I’m taking full advantage of it. While it’s not all that different from the monotony of a normal day, I’m staying away from my computer as much as possible.

It was a good weekend- my Bills won a big one, my house is clean, my laundry is done and I’m here with my book to get that done today. Oh, and a nice slice of chocolate cake to keep me company.

Like many of us, I’m holding my breath for this week hoping that we come out of it unscathed, mostly, on the other side. May all the forces be with us all to be safe this week and beyond.

Let’s get down to it, shall we? I hope you can put your feet up for a second and give yourself time to sit and read this with your morning bev.  Make it your time.

Hmm. Quite the phone call, I’d say. “Hello, it’s the Pope.”

Looking for a friend? Well, you can rent one in Tokyo!  Single travelers, fear no more.

God help the stupid men that come up again smart women.

Related: in a crisis, women get shit done. Well…yeah. We knew that.

Do you want to set some goals for yourself but don’t know where to start? This might help: the science of goal setting.

What the pandemic has done for dating. Well, interesting take, but I think I speak for myself and all my single friends…it’s not good.

I thought this was a very interesting take on why what we’re trying to do with this democracy experiment is so hard.

Octopuses (octopi?) are just like us. And apparently can also get high.

Tennis Grand Slam season is…off to a rocky start.

Do you need some happy tears for a change? Here you go.

And in case you need it, this is the best non-flourless chocolate cake out there. Of course, Ina.

Have a good week!

A Perfect Cup of Tea

Before you start to fight me on what is the perfect cup of tea, relax. I’m not going to really post just a recipe on how to make a perfect cup of tea, but rather tell you a bit about the man who taught me…
