Sunday Somethings

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

Happy Mother’s Day to those that are – the kid moms, the fur moms, the plant moms.  Pets count, as I’m reminded daily when a paw pokes me in the face at 5 AM.

I hope you are treating yourself, or treating someone special today.

As for our Mother’s Day- celebration will be a bit delayed since we are all in the throngs of pre-vacation. Therefore, Mom and I are doing our traditional afternoon tea for a delayed Mother’s Day celebration in a few weeks when we are in Paris. It’s something we used to do often when she visited me in Chicago and I know we both miss it – I can’t wait to try out a new place in a new city.

On a related note, I’m eyeing down the last few days of vacation and feeling good about where I sit. My suitcase is mostly packed. The house is mostly cleaned. Crawley’s caretakers are all lined up. That’s all I can ask for!

I hope whatever you doing today you have a few moments to put those feet up. Tomorrow’s Monday after all. Here’s some reading for you to get through the Sunday Scaries.

But first, Mother’s Day isn’t for everyone.

My mom finally stopped leaving me voicemails in favor of texts- but how really relatable is this?

After years of being part of the 6 AM spin club, I realized I actually work out my best between 1-3 in the afternoon, and I’ve been able to successfully keep it up for years, even when I worked in the office (hello, office stairwells!).  Here are some tips to get you moving to break up that 9-5.

Would you leave your partner in economy if you got a free upgrade and they didn’t? Is it selfish to say I would? Though maybe I guess it depends on how long the flight is…misery doesn’t love company on a 14 hour flight…Maybe we’d do halvsies.

I drink instant coffee every day – and love it- but as a Nescafe devotee…maybe I need to branch out.

If you’re visiting the National Parks this summer, don’t forget your pass!

How to live a low carbon lifestyle. It’s really so hard.

Has anyone seen The Little Mermaid yet? I’m scared- it’s one of my absolute faves.

If you have a Peloton, don’t forget to request your recalled part.

That’s it! Have a great week!

A Cinco de Mayo Spread with Zingerman’s Deli

)We are a little more than a week away from Cinco de Mayo which is, in my opinion, one of the best reasons to throw a get-together on a random day in May.  Tacos? Margs? Sign. Me. Up. I’m throwing together a Cinco de Mayo spread, and Zingerman’s is here to help.
