Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday. It’s been a bit over here but, whew…life.  Besides all the things happening…well, everywhere, my little corner of existence has been crazy. The fam and I were out of town for my uncle’s funeral, stayed to play and work for a bit, and…

Mardi Gras Favorites

Mardi Gras Favorites

Hey folks! I can’t believe Mardi Gras is on the mind. I know it’s not for everyone, but having spent a few years down in the Big Easy, my memories can’t help but wander down there whenever this time of the year rolls around. I’m…

Monday Musings

Monday Musings

Hello, Monday.

I’m taking this long weekend to head down to some sunshine. It’s been a week.

In talking to others, it seems I’m not the only one who had a week.  Between work being crazy busy and my upcoming home purchase from afar (I’ll inconveniently be in Florida for my walk through and closing) and getting all of that in order, by Thursday night I turned everything off around 8 pm with a pounding headache and just went to bed.

Saturday renewed my spirit by meeting with good friend and new friends and it was just everything I needed.  Friends really are the most valuable commodity.

I hope you have some good friends to get you out of those weeks that try to break you.

Also I found Wordle. It was time.

Anyway, I hope you have the day off as well (or, an easier day due to others being off).  Here’s what lifted my spirits this week:

How to stock a pantry and freezer so there are always options. My pantry go-to: tuna pasta, OG and kimchi variety.

Now, I’ve never (and will never) have a baby, but this is both funny and horrifying.

Are tastes inherited or acquired? An interesting question indeed. Maybe a little of both?

Do you believe in soul mates? I’m undecided here, but it’s always fun to think about.

My favorite heroine is back! Excelsior!

Um…occupational hazard?

Oh no! God Save the Queen.

Instagram ads almost never get me, but I succumbed to this ombre sweater. I mean, it me.

I feel like it’s coming upon the season just ripe for a lemon drizzle.

I hope you are well! Have a great week.

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday. Yesterday was a pretty busy day, so it’s a little bit of a slow start over here this Sunday.  After lunch and a show, we popped by my soon-to-be new house to see how it’s going. I personally think it’s ambitious that it’ll…

Sunday Somethings

Hello, Sunday.

Can you believe we’re in February? I can’t and honestly on my end it’s already roaring.  The next month is my waiting room until hopefully I can move into my house, so right now my to-do list is building and I can’t even touch it yet. Isn’t that sort of the worst?

In other news, the Olympics is on and I love it. Mom and I have switched between watching the actual game and all the feel-good based on a true story Olympic movies that are out there. So, all the feels. Go Team USA and Team Canada!

Anyway, we’re a week away from both the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day, so I’m dropping a few of my favorites for each below. Otherwise, dig into what caught my eye this week.

For the Big Game: authentic Buffalo wings, Buffalo chicken egg rolls, sweet and spicy wings, kimchi nachos and elote dip.

For Valentine’s:  lobster scrambled eggs, steak frites, chocolate bread pudding, coffee chocolate tart

The many lives of chili con queso.

The evolution of the US Passport.

The youngest and oldest Olympians. But…they are all still Olympians.

Climate change and the future of the winter games. Reality.

What happened to Miranda? This contains SATC spoilers, but do people really change so drastically from who they are at their core?

The end.

That’s all I’ve got today. Have a good week!

Hello, Sunday. I know it’s been a bit quiet in these parts. Last Saturday we lost our Tela, and that meant that the last week it was hard to find any words, and few without tears. Especially when we woke up Sunday morning to a…

Brown Butter Miso Peanut Butter Cookies

Brown Butter Miso Peanut Butter Cookies

One glimpse of the latest content I’ve shared with you and you’re likely wondering if I’ve emerged from the holidays eating anything but sugar and fat.  I’m here to reassure you that my protein shake game is strong, and oatmeal is back in its rightful spot as my go-to breakfast after being replaced by my favorite nut roll for the good part of the holiday season. However, because I value the everyday dessert, I’m sharing another sweet treat – my colleague Miso’s recipe for her brown butter miso peanut butter cookies.

Hello, Monday. It was an unexpectedly busy weekend in these parts so I’m using this bonus day off to get caught up a little. Saturday was busy with a friend date and dinner followed by an EPIC football game by my Bills. If they keep…
